Nursing and midwifery training
We pride ourselves on our close working partnerships between our hospitals and education establishments, including the University of Nottingham who we partner with to deliver training and clinical placements for nurses and midwives.
Preceptorship
Preceptorship is a 12-18 month transition period with structured support to enhance the skills, knowledge, competence, and confidence of our newly qualified staff. We have a strong programme that constantly links into their ongoing development and personal career aspirations. We have a robust support programme in place for our overseas nurses and rotations and secondments for our staff to access.
It is available for all nurses, midwives, allied health professionals and healthcare scientists across the five sites.
Return to practice
If you have previously been a registered health professional and wish to return to your profession, then you may need to complete a return to practice programme >
We provide a range of support to help staff return to clinical practice. We work with Health Education England, who may be able to offer financial and academic support to health professionals wishing to undertake a return to practice scheme.
Temporary staffing
We utilise a flexible workforce for a variety of staff groups across many settings and specialties. This enables us to ensure we have good teamwork, safe staffing levels and continuity of care for our patients.
